News Update from the UK Roofing Industry in 2019
The latest trend in the roofing industry is an upcoming event that will highlight the efforts and success of its business members. This will pave the way to recognize deserving roofing firms that continually provide complete roofing services around the UK. With constant innovation, imposing on regulation, training, and cultivation in the said craft, these roofers will have a chance to be awarded for their exceptional services.
The event, which will take place on the 10th of May this year, is hosted by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC). It is expected that attendees will surpass the 1000 professionals from the UK roofing industry. Such an exciting occasion will be held at the InterContinental London hotel–The O2.
Pulling some inspiration from the words of NFRC Chief Executive James Talman, the aim of NFRC is to boost the confidence of businesses and householders by setting standards and guidelines and by promoting the roofing sector as a professional section of the community that can extend wider in the construction industry.
Awards’ Criteria
The UK Roofing Awards is held yearly covering wide-ranging criteria on roofing disciplines. For this year’s award, the responsible committee will shortlist roofing projects this March and will be announced in May. The event aims to recognize outstanding and remarkable workmanship of roofing businesses within the UK.
The previous events had been successful where winners and finalists have etched a name for their excellent work, making such event as a milestone for their respective achievements in their roofing projects and businesses. Judges will base their assessment on workmanship, environmental friendliness of the projects, the degree of difficulty, health and safety, and finally, aesthetics.
Who Is the NFRC?
The NFRC is the largest federation of roofing contractors, a trade association that represents its members and promotes their service and products. In short, they spearhead all roofing developments.
In any organisation, there is an implementation of codes, guidance in terms of business procedures that will vet each member’s quality practice on such standards. These parameters cover adherence to government standards and site inspections. Also, the NFRC provides technical advice and relevant training services. As the forefront of the roofing industry in the UK, it also leads its members to a much broader sector in construction.
NFRC aims to help its members to gain more work by having them sell their products and services. For more than a hundred years now since its establishment, the NFRC is composed of 1000 trade contractors and 173 members, covering more than 7 regions.
NFRC’s mission has been a success, in which, the annual awards have been highly beneficial for the status of the roofing industry and have given appropriate recognition for its deserving members in terms of excellent projects that would reflect the quality of business every member represents.
The accomplishment of this mission is also beneficial to the community as they can vouch or select the roofing companies that truly deliver the best service. Workmanship, ethics in entering contracts, and the safety of the members of the community benefitting from good works are what make this mission successful.
